Synthesis of PET b HPB block copolymer and the effect of its addition to PET/HDPE polymer blends

Abstract:We have synthesized a new block copolymer with poly(ethylene terephthalate) as the hard segment and poly olefine as the soft segment by the condensation of terephthaloyl chloride, hydrogenated a ,w dihydroxy polybutadiene and ethylene glycol. This block copolymer was characterized by 1H and 13C NMR and FT IR. Quantitative estimations of the contents of block segments have been carried out by 1H NMR.
