Measurement of biaxial elongational viscosity of polymer melts using lubricated squeezing flow method

Abstract:Biaxial elongational rheometer using lubricated squeezing method has been installed. To start up the rheometer and to obtain reproducible and reliable data, the effects of experimental conditions on biaxial elongational viscosity data were investigated. Constant area method was preferable rather than constant volume method. It was concluded that the effects of the viscosity of silicone oil and the shape were negligible when method of constant area was employed.
