Abstract:Electro-migration and diffusion of ion in electrolyte solution are theoretically described in the Nernst-Plank equation. Also, electro-migration and diffusion of ion can be related by using the Einstein's relation in dilute solution. In concrete, however, the relationship between electro migration and diffusion is still unclear. In a previous study it was shown that it is possible to assess the diffusion coefficients of chloride ion in ordinary portland cement mortar, by following the Nernst-Plank equation, Einstein's relation, Debye-Huckel theory and electro neutrality. In this paper, using the same method, the authors assessed the diffusion coefficients of chloride ion in mortar made of several binder. Key Words:chloride ion, diffusion coefficient, electron migration, Nernst-Plank equation, Einstein's equation, Debye-Huckel theory, electro neutrality
