Abstract:Atmospheric corrosion test data for silver were analyzed which were obtained in various sites in Japan. A new corrosion life assessment method was developed. The method took into account the interactive effect of multiple environmental factors on the decrease in metal weight during corrosion tests. The simple and practically useful formula for corrosion life prediction was established in terms of environmental indices and the formula could enable the evaluation of time dependent loss of metal weight based on the environmental assessment. Key Words:Atmospheric corrosion, Environmental index, Weibull distribution
